New Zealand to call in Israeli ambassador over Gaza deaths | NZ Herald

Jacinda Adern, PM of New Zealand

The Israeli Ambassador will be called in again this week by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to raise concern about the deaths of more than 50 people in Gaza and wounding of 2700 while protesting the move of the US Embassy to Jerusalem.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said yesterday Mfat met with Ambassador Itzhak Gerberg in the past fortnight and would call him in again after Israeli forces killed more than 50 people.

The deaths were on the same day the US opened its embassy in Jerusalem after US President Donald Trump’s decision to move it from Te Aviv, recognising it as Israel’s capital.

Ardern said such a move was always going to inflame the situation given Jerusalem was critical for hopes of a “two-state” solution to succeed.

  1. Palestinian History Summary:
On five occasions the Palestinians have been offered a state of their own, and every time they have turned it down. Why?
-In 1937/38 the Palestinians were offered a state by the Peel Commission, but turned it down, saying they were not a people, and didn’t want a state, they just didn’t want there to be a Jewish state.
-In 1947 the United Nations partitioned Palestine into two states, but again Palestine would not accept this, going to war in 1948 when Israel, accepting the United Nations’ plans declared ITSELF a state.
-In 1967 the Arab League Summit turned down an offer of ‘land for peace’, going to Khartoum, in Sudan, and issuing their three famous ‘Nos’; ‘No Recognition’, ‘No Peace’ and ‘No Negotiation’.
-In 2000/01 President Clinton and Prime Minister Ehud Barak offered the Palestinians a peace plan that would have given them a state. The Camp David Summit broke down in July 2000, and Yasser Arafat was blamed. He then called for an Intifada which cost the lives of over 4000 people.
-In 2008 the Palestinians did not respond to an offer by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert that would have given the Palestinian people a state comprising 95% of the West Bank, and half of Jerusalem as their capital.

Israel is entitled to defend it’s border! (Wouldn’t we?) Hamas has already taken responsibility for the recent riot. 80% of those killed were Hamas. Did that news not get through to our media reporters due to prejudice? Hamas is using the Palestinians to wipe out the people of Israel because of its hatred. It is really time for our PM and many other leaders around the world to stop calling terrorism, peaceful protests! Hamas owns the death of these people, not Israel or President Trump! (President Trump) has simply carried out what previous Presidents promised but didn’t do! – check that out too!) It was just an excuse to, once again, discredit Israel to the world!

Jerusalem has always been Israel’s capital! Would we share ours with another people group!

    • I think our Journalists have swallowed the Hamas Hasbara: That the Jews are oppressors and European Colonizers who have stolen the Palestinian people’s homeland. Now they are stuck in a ghetto consigned to rot in limbo.

The content of your entry is important because it debunks this historical revisionist narrative.

      Israelis are not European colonizers
The idea of a distinct Palestinian People is a modern contrivance
      Jews are not the oppressors

      Instead:

Jewish immigrants don’t just come from Europe
Over 850,000 came from North Africa and other Middle Eastern countries
The Palestinian Arab leaders are profiting from a grievance industry that needs sufferers to maintain revenue
The Palestinian is anyone who has historical roots in that region, and that should include Jews but in common usage, it doesn’t usually include Jews
