You are invited to a Hanukkiah lighting ceremony at 5pm, Tuesday December 4.
For the first time, since the earthquake, it will be held at Cathedral Square and marks a significant milestone in the rebuilding of the city.
Bring your children to hear the miraculous story of Hanukkah.

Hanukkah, the Jewish festival of rededication, also known as the festival of lights, is an eight-day festival beginning on the 25th day of the Jewish month of Kislev. In 2018, it will begin on the evening of December 2.
Hanukkah is probably one of the best-known Jewish holidays, not because of any great religious significance, but because of its proximity to Christmas. Many non-Jews (and even many assimilated Jews!) think of this holiday as the Jewish Christmas, adopting many of the Christmas customs, such as elaborate gift-giving and decoration.
This Year we are organizing a celebration with many family-oriented activities and tasty traditional Hanukkah foods.

Travelling the globe from the Middle East to Eastern Europe, from New York and Burlington to Cairo in Jerusalem, the story unfolds with the help of a dazzling cast of historical characters, vivid storytelling, stunning location photography, and encounters with people who live with the passions and perplexities of the Jewish story today.
