These maps and variations of them are deeply deceiving to a naive public. They imply that a nation called Palestine existed before 1947. There never was. The Palestinians have never had manu whenua over this disputed land. Their grievance is based on a lie. Similar maps can be often seen at Pro-Palestinian rallies and websites.
