BEIT LAHIYA, Gaza Strip (AP) — The United Nations says about $540 million is needed for humanitarian relief in the Palestinian territories in 2018.
Jamie McGoldrick, the top U.N. humanitarian coordinator, said Wednesday that 75 percent of that sum is for Gaza, where “a man-made tragedy is unfolding daily.”

As the Occupier, Israel is responsible for ensuring that the people under it’s occupation have access to Health, Education and other services.
The cost of this occupation is being subsidised by people around the world as Israel dodges it’s responsibilities.
Israel needs to drop the blockade of Gaza (which is a defacto definition of occupation) and allow the people there to rebuild infrastructure and an economy and earn it’s own way in the world, or “Man Up” and pay for it’s occupation.
One has to note that Hamas only came into being after 20 years of Israeli Occupation of Gaza and will likley disappear when Gaza is liberated.
To Israel not pay for the occupation is to use the rest of the 7 Billion people in this world to pay for it’s onligations.
Why don’t you mention Egypt? They too are blockading Gaza. Hamas have demonstrated that they divert foreign aid to wage war on Israel. While Hamas won’t lay down their arms, there can be no confidence that Hamas will apply the funds to the welfare of Gazans.
The Middle East Quartet, comprising the UN, EU, US and Russia have all imposed sanctions on Hamas. With your kind of logic, they “owe” something to Gaza too.
